Not expected has been less exciting and shocking news. The Historic Rally of Spain (SHR) enter part of the European Rally Championship in their mode of Historic speed.

This was confirmed by the World Council of International Automobile Federation FIA, at its meeting held in New Delhi, India, where he announced the sporting calendar for the coming season 2012.

The contest “FIA European Historic Sporting Rally Championship” includes the Historic Rally of Spain as a test scoring with such iconic events in the world of motor and San Remo, Acropolis, San Marino …

The quality treasured by Spanish test, both in the sports section and in the organization, has been taken into account by the FIA to give its approval after being subjected REH in the last edition of the mandatory pre-inspection by the highest body Observer governance of international motorsport.

Toño Sainz, ganador de pasadas ediciones

With a total length of 167 Km. of special stages, this IV Rally de España Histórico will be the opening event of the 2012 FIA European Historic Rally Championship.

Easy to train, with all time stages like Mijares, or Serranillos, this IV Rally de España Histórico continues to be a pure reflection of old time events, gathering around it all the flavor of the old Rally de España, at the time one of the key events of the European Rallye Championship, which was won at the time by drivers such as Sandro Munari, Jean Claude Andruet, Michelle Mouton, Tony Fassina, Adartico Vudafieri or Miki Biasion.

With the historic walls of Avila in the background, starting point and end the Historical Rally of Spain has closed its third edition, scoring again for the national competitions of speed and regularity. Without forgetting the “review” because the test has to find its entry in 2012 in European Historic Vehicle Rally.
With two stages of competition and 10 special stages, four of them the first day, again it has become a real race, a lot of driving, dealing with the fog, humidity, night … The general word on the lips of most enthusiasm was having competed in a genuine test, hard, in living memory.

Jesus Ferreiro and Toño Sainz, the only two previous winners of this test have met the forecasts as favorites to win starring a vibrant struggle with their powerful Porsche 911. Ferreiro was the first leader but in the second tranche accused feeding problems and was down 39 seconds Sainz, even with failures of change, went to the head. Never before has a sporting event had moved the starting motor so majestic and classic motor racing today has gone through a date to remember. The Pre-out has been marked by the unique environment in an experience that has brought together not only to the “Kings” of the occasion, and co-pilots with their machines, but also drivers of the past, print, television, national federation representatives and autonomous, sponsors y. as not, the public, many expectant public.
